May 2025

• We cross the milestone of 6 Crore INR (704K USD) 🎉 Let that sink in.

• PavanKumar Somu, 1993-97 batch completes transfer of 30 lakh INR for Reading room and Recreation centre at Women's hostel 🙏, in name of his daughter 'Sishira Somu'. This shall be on the first floor of the dining hall.

• Room layout - Each student is provided with a bed, reading/working table and a shelf to keep their belongings.

• PavanKumar Somu, 1993-97 batch pledges 30 lakh INR for Reading room and Recreation centre at Women's hostel 🙏. This shall be on the first floor of the dining hall.

• 1991-95 batch, 40 alumni meet up at Las Vegas, US on Apr 6, 7. Telugu poem from alumni, Vamsi (after batch meet).

• 83 lakhs INR for construction of compound wall is approved from RUSA fund. Construction will be done by APEWIC.

Mar 2025

• Foundation work has started for Kitchen and Dining hall.

• We close the financial year 2024-2025 at 5.35 Crore INR from 361 donors across 47 batches 👏

Feb 2025

• Phase 1 construction - concrete for second-floor slab is laid on Feb 20 2025 🎉

• FCRA approval update - Within one week of submission of our FCRA application, enquiry officer visited our office yesterday and had meeting with all executive members in person and with some through phone call. He gathered personal information of all executive members. We took him to our site. He was very happy to notice the developmental activity going on. Waiting for clearance from ministry.

• Aurobindo Pharma Foundation makes a contribution of 25 lakh INR 🙏

• Pushpit Steels Private Limited makes a contribution of 5 lakh INR 🙏

 Jan 2025

• Land for kitchen and dining hall is cleared for construction. Checkout the plan on Documents page.

• Foundation stone laid for Kitchen and Dining hall by C Gopala Reddy (1965-70 batch), Executive Chairman and founder of GR Power switchgear ltd on Jan 25 2025. Check out the Photo gallery on the website.

• Golden jubilee celebrations of 1970-75 batch were held on Jan 26 2025.

  • Under the leadership of Mr. Suresh Mohan and team, they had a very good attendance by the batch. They have set a target of collecting one crore for women's hostel building from their batch. Hats off to Mr. Varuna Reddy for spearheading the effort of collecting funds. They handed over a cheque for Rs. 5,11,116/- on the spot.

• S R K Reddy (1974-79 batch), Chairman and Managing director of Sivanssh Infrastructure (SIDPL) makes a contribution of 30 lakhs INR for the women's hostel 🙏

2024 Summary

2024 has been an incredible year for SVUCE Alumni association towards the Women’s hostel initiative. Association leaders and alumni deserve a big round of applause for the efforts 🎉

• While we hit 1.06 Crore in funds by end of 2023, Alumni contributed an additional 3.16 Crore in 2024. We ended the year at 4.22 Crore.

• Donors increased from 67 in 2023 to 342 in 2024 (an additional 275 alumni joined us during the year 2024). 

• Total 47 batches have joined. Look to hit 50 soon and keep going.

• Phase 1 construction for 28 rooms (to accommodate 112 students) is on track for mid 2025 - with foundation, ground and first floor slab complete. Brick work is in progress on the ground floor.

Interesting facts:

• Starting from first batch 1959-64, we have representation from all 31 UG batches for the three decades 1960s, 1970s, 1980s.

• 1990s decade is close at 7 batches with another three to join. Hopefully soon.

• Look forward to young millennium batches (2000 onwards), M.Tech, PhD batches to join hands and add to the energy of seniors and UGs.

• 1980’s decade have the highest participation with 125 donors.

• 1970’s decade have the highest contribution with 1.37 Crore

Dec 2024

• Phase 1 construction - first floor roof is laid on Dec 29 2024. A significant milestone 🎉

• SVUCE alumni is lucky to have patrons like you 🙏

  • Thank you Sivaprasada Reddy Rachamallu (1973-78) for filling the balance with 6.43 lakh to reach 4 CR before 2024 ends 🎉

  • We also received another 15 lakh from C Gopala Reddy (1965-70) towards the dining hall. 

  • 1989-93 FDH batch adds 7 lakh before the year ends. Thank you Srinivasa Rao Pandiri for the lead.

• Association received Income Tax notice for donors missing PAN details. PAN details are mandatory for the Association to avoid income tax on the donations.  

• Planning an alumni networking event in Bay area, US for Jan/Feb. We are enlisting alumni at executive/senior positions across major companies. Connect, interact and add alumni to your professional network. If interested, contact us. 

Nov 2024

• Madhusudhan Reddy (1969-74 batch, based in Minneapolis, MN) is leading an initiative to create SVUCE Alumni North America chapter in US. Interested folks in North America can contact us and we shall get you connected. He is currently retired and manages a temple.

• Concrete pouring for first slab is complete on Nov 8 2024. Yet other major milestone on this divine project 🎉

Oct 2024

• 1962-67, 1971-76 batch makes a start with contributions in Oct.

• Oct 2, Hyderabad Alumni association AGM and get together updates - 

  • The annual SVUCE AAH alumni event sponsored by 1996-2000 batch went on a grand scale this year with nearly 300 members attending and a whopping ₹68 lakhs donation pledged for women's hostel construction.

  • A new EC committee has been chosen for 2024-26 with the guidance of previous committee. New SVUCEAAH president - K Janardhana Reddy.

Sep 2024

• Alumni association, Hyderabad AGM and get together is scheduled for Oct 2. Will also raise funds for women's hostel initiative.

• We have crossed 300 donors from alumni.

• 1995-99 batch meets in the campus for Silver Jubilee reunion on June 29 and joins hands on the women's hostel initiative.

Jun 2024

• Tendering process for Phase 1 construction is now complete. M/s. Venusree Constructions, Prop. Sri. Podili Sudhakar, Tirupati is selected for Phase 1. They have executed projects at SPDCL, AP.

• Phase 1 agreement details

  • Cost - 4.77 CR

  • 3 floors - Ground, first, second

  • Rooms - 28 (28x4 = 112 girl students)

  • To be completed within an year, i.e. June 2025.

• Work for clearing the land, watchman/store room shed, bore well install is complete.

• Earth work for foundation, PCC completes. Mats and columns are ready.

• Form 10 BE for FY 2023-2024 is being shared with donors.

• Update of bank transactions for June is delayed. Deposit form submissions are up to date.

May 2024

• The Executive committee approved the Tender specification and schedules for further action. Few contractors selected based on the recommendations of our alumni and tenders are being  called for. Tendering process is planned to complete by month end and Phase 1 project order will be placed to the successful contractor.

• Reminder! - Donors list is missing details for few. Submit Deposit form after you make an amount transfer. Donations are IT exempt (50% under Section 80G) and CSR eligible, share your PAN and address for IT submissions.
